Workshop: Implementing Bold Global Conservation Targets

¿Por qué asistir a esta sesión?
This session is designed for delegates interested in creative approaches to implementing ambitious global conservation targets, which have been called for by many scientists and policy makers.
HideDescripción
Protected and conserved areas are the backbone of area-based conservation, the key strategy to halt biodiversity loss. Most biodiversity loss is being driven by habitat loss and fragmentation, and over-harvest, factors that can be managed by effective protected and conserved areas. This session examines 1) the need to large scale conservation targets; 2) how large-scale conservation can be implemented in different conditions of the world; 3) how “bending the curve” conservation strategies can be implemented in difference global conditions; and then concludes with 4) a global panel of experiences in implementing ambitions global targets. The panel includes perspectives from all regions of the world and a range of different ecosystems.
